Overview
The Jabber settings allow you to configure how pulse™ will send out Jabber
instant message notifications. Jabber is an open, distributed instant messaging protocol. There are several free and open source implementations of both Jabber servers and clients. Setting up a free server on your local network is quite easy if you do not already have one.
Jabber messages are sent out as notifications based on subscriptions.
SSL
Note that the latest Jabber standards specify that SASL should be used to negotiate the use or otherwise of SSL. So usually you do not need to specify to pulse™ that SSL is used. Some older Jabber servers, however, may not support SASL, in which case you can try the "force ssl" option if you know the server is expecting SSL.
