Features

A feature is an interesting piece of information discovered in a build artifact during post-processing. Features are divided into three categories, depending on their severity:

  • error: a fatal problem, detection of an error feature normally causes a build failure
  • warning: notification of a potential problem, the build may succeed, but it is usually best to resolve warnings
  • info: a useful piece of information

Common features include error or warning messages produced by compilers and other building tools. However, features may be found in any build artifact, they are not restricted to command output. This allows you to use post-processing to extract any information of interest to you during a build.
