Overview

This document provides information about how to install and configure Stethoscope.

System Requirements

Stethoscope requires the .Net runtime, version 2.0. During installation, the Stethoscope installer will detect if you have the runtime and if not will download and install it for you.

Installation

To install Stethoscope from an archive file, first unzip the file using your chosen zip tool. The archive expands to a directory with the same name as the package, excepting the .zip extension. Next, run the setup.exe installer within that directory. The installer will automatically start Stethoscope when it completes: you should see a question mark icon appear in your system tray.

Configuration

To configure Stethoscope, right click on the system tray icon and select "Settings". You will be presented with a dialog where you can configure the following settings.

Pulse Server URL

The URL of the pulse™ server you wish to monitor.

Example

http://pulse.example.com:8080

Your pulse™ login name.

Example

jblogs

Password

You pulse™ password.

Example

Polling interval

The frequency with which Stethoscope should check for new build activity on the pulse™ server, in seconds.

Using Stethoscope

Once configured, Stethoscope will automatically begin monitoring your pulse™ server. To show details about your projects and builds, double click the tray icon (or right click and choose "Status") to display the Status Window.
